When you reserve the Center, you will be asked to sign the document below. Creation of a reservation at the Center on Vandeventer indicates acceptance of this document.
Here is what it says:
We are grateful and delighted that you have chosen the Center on Vandeventer for your upcoming event.
Please review SF Shannon’s policies regarding payment, cancellation, and expectations. Remitting your payment indicates acceptance of these policies and expectations. All policies are strictly enforced. It is the responsibility of all guests and members of their party to be familiar with all policies pertaining to their rental.
RENTER REQUIREMENTS
For legal and accounting purposes, the person placing the reservation must be the same as the credit/debit card holder. This person is considered to be the guest. All other persons involved with the rental are considered to be the guest’s invitees, and all discussion regarding reservation, cancellation, and damage policies will be discussed with the guest, not the guest’s invitees.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Upon booking more than 7 days in advance, a $50 down payment is required to hold your reservation. The remainder of the balance will be charged 7 days before your arrival. Upon booking less than 7 days in advance, you will be charged your rental payment in full.
EXPECTATIONS
You and all others in your party agree to leave the Center on Vandeventer in “Move-In Condition” after your event. Move-In Condition includes:
- Vacating with normal cleaning and laundry.
- Washing and putting away all dishes, pots and pans
- Removing all perishable and opened packages of food from the refrigerator, freezer and cupboards
- Removing trash and recycling. Dumpsters are located in the alley on the north side of the building.
- Leaving all furnishings in (or returned to) their original location
- Keeping appliances clean
- Returning all keys
The following circumstances could lead to additional charges:
- If furnishings are moved to another location.
- If tape or adhesives are used on the walls and the paint is damaged upon removal.
- If there are unusual stains or glitter/confetti on any furnishings, rugs or walls that require special cleaning or painting
- If rental items are left in the Center after the event without advance permission. You are welcome to bring in outside rentals, but you must make arrangements with us beforehand for delivery and pick-up.
Failure to adhere to these expectations will result in additional charges. “Excessive cleaning” will be documented and is billed at the rate of $40 per person per hour.
Intentional damage, theft or gross negligence is not covered, and will result in additional charges.
UPON ARRIVAL
If there are concerns or issues, please immediately contact us. The main office phone numbers is included in your check-in instructions and at sfshannon.com. If there is no answer, leave a message, or call the emergency number (if your call is an emergency). We will respond as soon as we can.
EMERGENCIES / MAINTENANCE
In the event of a problem getting into the Center or if there are any maintenance issues, please immediately contact us at {companies.local_phone}. If it is after office hours we will make every effort to return your call as soon as possible.
ARRIVAL TIME
Unless otherwise specified, your rental is based on a four-hour event. You may arrive up to two hours beforehand for setup. Your rental fee includes an additional hour after your event for cleanup.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you must cancel your reservation at the Center, we hope you’ll come back! The cancellation schedule is as follows:
- Full refund with 8 days or more notice.
- Canceling within seven days of your event will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and could lead to forfeiture of your rental payment.
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the Center on Vandeventer, on the sidewalk in front of the Center, or anywhere else on the premises of the apartment building. If there is any tobacco smell or evidence of tobacco use after your departure, you will be charged a cleaning fee. The “excessive cleaning” fee is $40 per person per hour.
Oil lamps and incense are not permitted due to their long-lasting odor. If these policies are violated, by signing this agreement you understand that there may be a charge for excessive cleaning.
PLUMBING
Do not put any feminine products in the toilet. Please do not pour grease or food down the drain.
PARKING: VIOLATIONS & PRECAUTIONS
SF Shannon is not responsible for any parking citations received resulting from failure to adhere to posted signs, parking illegally, or failure to pay for a meter.
SF Shannon cannot guarantee the security and safety of any personal possessions left in your vehicle, or the safety and security of the vehicle itself. In every U.S. city, car break-ins can be a problem. Minimize the risk by leaving no possessions inside your vehicle. If you must leave possessions in your vehicle, leave nothing whatsoever exposed to view.
INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS
While SF Shannon strives to maintain vacation properties in the finest condition, no guarantees are expressed nor implied regarding suitability or for any particular purpose. All guest(s) and their invitees use the vacation property structures and premises at their own risk. {companies.name} and its property owners shall not be held liable or otherwise responsible in any way for injury to any guest and/or their invitees that is caused or permitted to be caused by the intentional or unintentional acts of said guest(s) and/or invitees, or by the failure of structures, appliances, furnishings, and/or other equipment, whether by malfunction, misuse, acts of God/nature, and/or are otherwise naturally occurring. No guarantees are expressed nor implied as to the suitability of utilities and other services provided to the vacation properties and adjacent structures and premises. No guarantees are expressed nor implied regarding the suitability/compatibility of materials utilized in the construction of the vacation property and/or its contents.
SF Shannon and its property owners shall not be held liable nor otherwise responsible in any way for allergic reactions to guest(s) or invitees, caused or permitted to be caused by materials utilized in the manufacture of the vacation property and/or its contents, nor from mold and/or airborne spores, nor from pet/animal allergens, nor from chemical agents including, but not limited to appliances, linens, carpeting, utensils, fixtures, hot tubs, and/or other equipment. By written or electronic endorsement of this agreement, guest(s) and invitees hereby agree to forever hold-harmless and indemnify {companies.name} and its property owners from and against all claims, demands, loss, liability/responsibility of any kind and character, including cost of defense, arising out of or in any way connected with the guest(s) use of the property.
