Schreiber Suite

The Schreiber Suite is a beautifully furnished one-bedroom apartment in St. Louis' grand and historic Tower Grove East neighborhood, near Compton Heights.

Before your arrival, the Schreiber Suite will be stocked with welcome teas and treats, freshly roasted coffee, and light breakfast foods to start your stay. You'll also find a range of cleaning supplies that you're welcome to use and complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, Q-Tips, etc.). To keep our rates low, we don't replenish these items during your stay.

This one-of-a-kind gem sleeps up to three, with a King-sized bed in the bedroom, and a top-quality rollaway that can be set up in a corner of the living room. Base rates are for two guests sharing the king bed. If you will have two, but would like to use the rollaway, please make your reservation for three.

The streamlined kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas range, frost-free refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cookware and dishes. The apartment has WIFI, and an antenna for local stations on the flat screen television in the living room. You are welcome to log into any streaming services to which you subscribe, through the Roku Box. There is no television in the bedroom.

Dynamic pricing ensures competitive rates. State lodging taxes apply to stays of less than 30 nights and City lodging taxes also apply to stays less than 32 nights. SF Shannon offers weekly and monthly discounts, which are applied at the time of booking. Contact us if you are a long-term guest who would like your reservation divided into monthly payments.

We accept same-day reservations, if you contact us by 2 PM Central Time USA. Sorry, while we all love them, we do not allow pets at the Schreiber Suite. Smoking is prohibited.

Upon making a reservation, you will be notified of SF Shannon's House Rules. Creation of a reservation indicates acceptance of SF Shannon's policies.

The Schreiber Suite is on the second floor of the historic Ullrich Haus and only accessible by stairs. Parking is free and on-street in front of the Schreiber Suite.

From this location it is easy to walk, bike or take public transit around St. Louis. The Gateway Arch, America's Center, and Downtown St. Louis are less than four miles from the Schreiber Suite. The world-renowned Missouri Botanical Garden is a delightful walk away, through some of the city's finest historic neighborhoods. St. Louis University Medical Center is within walking distance. The main campus of St. Louis University is two miles north. Washington University's main campus is about seven miles from the Schreiber Suite. Barnes Hospital & Washington University Medical Center are four miles from the apartment. Numerous restaurants and magnificent historic parks are within walking distance.

Since all of SF Shannon’s vacation rental apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: “Is it safe?” This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking it. The co-owners live within walking distance of each SF Shannon vacation rental. Rachel, Karen and their spouses have raised their families in their respective neighborhoods, and have always felt perfectly safe.

If you're traveling with an infant, we have a pack-and-play available for a $10 one-time charge. If you'd like to use it, please let us know.

Why that name?
The apartment is named after Paul Schreiber. He and his wife Evelyn owned the building from 1955 to 1999. Paul was an associate conductor with the St. Louis Symphony and a composer. He loved his apartment building on Shenandoah! He was responsible for the conversion of the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building from a single-family home to three individual apartments. He is also the one responsible for the mid-century touches in this very cool apartment.

Thank you for your interest. We hope we get the opportunity to host you and earn your business.
