Cambria

***Attention Guests: We are doing everything that we can to keep guest apartments clean and sanitized. Between each stay, protocols include cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.). ***

The Cambria is a large and sumptuous one-bedroom apartment in the heart of St. Louis' Central West End, one of Midwest's finest historic neighborhoods. Thoughtful touches abound throughout the apartment. Enjoy coffee on the sunporch with a commanding view of the Chase-Park Plaza. Soak in the Cambria's oversized tub, then retire for the night between soft linens on a fabulous King-sized bed.

Before your arrival, the Cambria will be stocked with welcome teas and treats, freshly roasted coffee, and light breakfast foods to start your stay. You'll also find a range of cleaning supplies that you're welcome to use and complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, Q-Tips, etc.). To keep our rates low, we don't replenish these items during your stay.

The apartment has high-speed dedicated internet service with WIFI. The flat screen TV in the living room has an antenna for local stations, and a Roku for any streaming services to which you subscribe. There is no television in the bedroom.

The Cambria has central air conditioning. The apartment is on the second floor and is only accessible by stairs. A laundromat is available in the building's upper lobby for guests. 

Dynamic pricing ensures competitive rates. State lodging taxes apply to stays of less than 30 nights and City lodging taxes also apply to stays less than 32 nights. SF Shannon offers weekly and monthly discounts, which are applied at the time of booking. Contact us if you would like your reservation divided into weekly or monthly payments.

We accept same-day reservations, if you contact us by 2 PM Central Time USA. Sorry, while we all love them, we do not allow pets at the Cambria. Smoking is prohibited.

Upon making a reservation, you will be asked to sign an electronic document to confirm your understanding of SF Shannon's payment and cancellation schedule and policies. Here is what it says.

Parking is free and on-street on the block in front of the Cambria, but please note: The Central West End neighborhood, especially along Euclid street, is home to a number of bars and restaurants. These establishments make our neighborhood great, but can also lead to some challenges. With so many establishments within walking distance, the neighborhood attracts many visitors, especially in the evenings and on weekends. This can make parking tricky. You may need to circle the block a few times, but most of our guests don’t report too much trouble getting a spot. Additionally, you may hear noise from the bars and their patrons.

You don't need a car while in residence, though! The Cambria is on McPherson at Euclid, footsteps from delightful shopping and many fine restaurants. Public transit & Uber are easily accessible. The Cambria is less than five miles west of the Gateway Arch. It is within walking distance of Forest Park, home to the St. Louis Zoo and St. Louis Art Museum, among other beloved institutions. Washington University Medical Center & Barnes Hospital are within walking distance, as are all the amenities of a great urban center, including supermarkets, pharmacies and movie theaters. Metrolink, the city's regional rail system, is within walking distance.

Since all of SF Shannon’s vacation rental apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: “Is it safe?” This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking it. The co-owners live within walking distance of each SF Shannon vacation rental. Rachel, Karen and their spouses have raised their families in their respective neighborhoods, and have always felt perfectly safe.

If you're traveling with an infant, we have a pack-and-play available for a $10 one-time charge. If you'd like to use it, please let us know. 

Why the name?
The steel I-beam supports in the basement of the Cambridge were made in Pennsylvania at the Cambria Steel Company. Cambria is the perfect name for the sturdy and elegant apartment.
